Tribe Agency has demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of national-level communications addressing sensitive social issues, including Sorcery Accusation- Related Violence (SARV) in Papua New Guinea. SARV is a complex and deeply rooted issue, linked to harmful practices and gender-based violence, requiring carefully structured communication approaches that balance awareness, cultural sensitivity, and stakeholder engagement.

As part of the PNG–Australia Government partnership under the Building Community Engagement Program (BCEP), Tribe Agency was engaged to develop and deliver a national awareness campaign presented at the Highlands Leaders’ Summit. The objective was to elevate SARV as a policy priority and support informed dialogue among senior government stakeholders, while also improving community-level understanding of the issue.

Our approach focused on translating complex and sensitive subject matter into accessible, audience-appropriate communication assets. This included the development of a cohesive visual and narrative system designed to convey urgency while remaining respectful and non-alienating. The campaign utilised structured storytelling and modular content formats to ensure adaptability across stakeholder groups, including government, community leaders, and the general public.

The outcome was a campaign that supported increased visibility of SARV at senior decision-making levels, contributed to policy dialogue, and provided a foundation for ongoing awareness and education initiatives. This experience demonstrates Tribe Agency’s capability to deliver communications aligned with development objectives, particularly in areas relating to gender-based violence, harmful practices, and community engagement.
