SP Lager 50 Years Independence Campaign
2025 marks 50 years since Papua New Guinea gained independence. SP Lager was there before it happened and has been part of every moment since. This campaign connects generations. Born and Raised captures legacy and local pride while nodding to the everyday act of raising a glass. A toast to where we’ve come from and where we’re going. The emotional heart is Bungim Yumi. An open invitation for Papua New Guineans to come together. SP Lager as cultural connector, shared across generations and raised in every moment that matters.
We created a 60-second hero film that moves through time. Opens with the first drop of SP Lager being poured, then shifts forward, generation to generation. Past becomes present. Legacy becomes action. Archival footage grounds the story, Independence Day flag raising, sporting triumphs, real moments from PNG’s history, before moving into now: backyard celebrations, commemorative glasses raised, fireworks lighting up the night sky.
We built a visual system around two core messages. Born and Raised became the campaign hero, three words capturing SP’s proud roots while nodding to the everyday act of raising a glass. Cheers to 50 Years of PNG grounds the brand in the nation’s story, celebrating SP’s constant presence through every milestone since before independence. Together they span past and present in one unified voice.
Content spans heritage and celebration. We created posts showcasing archival moments alongside present-day Independence Day gatherings. The social system brought Born and Raised to life through real Papua New Guinean moments. Friends raising commemorative 50 Years glasses. Families gathered with SP Lager at backyard celebrations. Communities coming together under the national flag. Each piece of content reinforced the brand’s place in PNG’s collective memory. From the first independence celebration to today’s golden jubilee. The result: a campaign that honoured legacy while staying grounded in the authentic celebrations happening across the country.
